Bringing a greener future to West Oxfordshire

Acorn Bioenergy is consulting on plans to develop an anaerobic digestion plant on land near Witney.

Acorn Bioenergy held a public drop-in exhibition event about the development of the anaerobic digestion plant on 29th November at South Leigh Village hall. This information-sharing event gave members of the local community a chance to find out more about the proposals for the plant east of Witney. We were pleased to see it was well attended.

After listening to your feedback, we have now submitted a planning application for the anaerobic digestion plant to the local council.

Location

The proposed development would be located on agricultural land north of South Leigh Road and south of the A40, approximately 1.2km east of Witney.

The location has been chosen as Acorn Bioenergy prioritise sites with good access to farms that can provide high quality agricultural waste, good access to the strategic road network and ones that will have a minimal visual impact on neighbours.
